Texas Rebuilds

Hurricane Harvey struck the Texas coast from Corpus Christi and Rockport to Houston, Port Arthur and Beaumont, dropping 24.5 trillion gallons of water and damaging or destroying hundreds of thousands of homes, schools, businesses and infrastructure.

Hurricane Harvey relief through the Texas General Land Office is locally led, state supported and federally funded.

What Should I Do?

First, register online at DisasterAssistance.gov. or download the FEMA APP to register or call to register with FEMA at 1-800-621-3362 (FEMA). You will be asked to provide basic information including insurance coverage. Anyone affected by Hurricane Harvey is encouraged to apply. You may be referred to a range of helpful programs in addition to FEMA assistance. The information you provide will be used to help FEMA determine whether you are eligible. In most cases, an inspector will come out to look at your damaged property to help FEMA determine which relief program you qualify for.

Am I Eligible?

To be considered for federal disaster assistance, individuals and households must reside in a county that was included in the impacted area declared a federal disaster for Individual Assistance. Your damages must be a result of Hurricane Harvey.  You may be asked to provide additional information once FEMA reviews your application.

If you are eligible, you will be notified of the programs you are eligible to participate in. If you have already registered with disasterassistance.gov or called 1-800-621-3362, you need not register again.
